Book One: London & London Side-Along Apparations

Book Two—OWLs: Oxford Wizarding Locations
Home to some of the most recognizable of all Harry Potter Places, Oxford is easily visited via public transportation from London.
Four Must-See Harry Potter Places are Found in Oxford’s City Centre:
- The Hogwarts Great Hall set is an almost-exact reproduction of Christ Church College’s Dining Hall (Site #31). Actual location filming for Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets took place here, as well.
- New College (Site #32) is where several iconic Goblet of Fire courtyard scenes were shot.
- The Bodleian Library (Site #30) contains two Potter Places: Hogwarts’ Library and Hogwarts’ Infirmary (site of Yule Ball dancing lessons, too).
A Fifth Potter Film Site is only 8 Miles Northwest of Oxford: Blenheim Palace (Site #29).
Book Three: Snitch-Seeking in Southern England and Wales
This book explores twelve Harry Potter film sites found west of London.
Two Snitch-Seeking sites are so spectacular, they each deserve a double-Great-Site rating!
Gloucester Cathedral (Site #39) and Lacock Abbey & Village (Site #40) are loaded with locations seen in several Harry Potter movies and must not be missed.
Book Four—NEWTs: Northeastern England Wizarding Treks

Book Five—Scotland: Hogwarts’ Home
No setting could be more perfect for a magical School of Witchcraft and Wizardry than the majestic grandeur of Scotland. So it is no surprise that J.K. Rowling selected Scotland as the home of Hogwarts, or that several Scottish locales served as film sites.
Book Five Part ONE: Edinburgh explores Scotland’s capital city and the places where J.K. Rowling found safe harbor when struggling to finish her first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Book Five Part TWO: the Scottish West Highlands is where you’ll find the magical mountains and glens, rivers and lochs, seen on screen in aerial shots of the countryside surrounding Hogwarts Castle.
- You can personally experience Harry’s journey to Hogwarts by boarding a train similar to the Hogwarts Express at Fort William (Site #59), which travels over the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct bridge (Site #61).
- Not only can you visit the place where Hagrid’s Hut was built (Site #58), you can LODGE at the foot of Hagrid’s slope.
Book Five Part THREE: Horcrux Hunting in Northern Scotland—and Beyond includes sites on the north coast of Scotland, the west coast of Ireland, and a little village in Norway. These places are for Potterites with plenty of holiday time, and a determination to visit EVERY possible Potter Place on the planet.
